As most readers of this publication are aware, natural gas prices are historically low right now. This is due to two main reasons. The first is strong production in the U.S. in the last 18 months. Secondly, the recession has negatively impacted the demand for natural gas. Before we can expect to see a turnaround in prices, the market is looking for signs that the economy is turning for the better, and evidence of reduced production that will ultimately occur as a result of low natural gas rig counts.
