According to the EIA, US working gas in storage rose by 70 Bcf to 2,721 Bcf for the week ending June 26. Stocks are now 615 Bcf (29%) above last year, and 467 Bcf (21%) above the five year average. This is the highest storage level on record for this point in the year.

While still a significant injection into storage, the report was the first weekly injection 2009 that was less than the year ago and 5 year average comparisons. The big news of the week is that the Province of Ontario has suspended its plans to build new nuclear reactors at the Darlington Nuclear Generation Station because they are concerned about cost overruns and the uncertain future of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.  The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure said that the bidding process for the new stations had not provided the province with a suitable option that would allow the project to proceed.  The Minister of Energy also said that the province is not abandoning nuclear as an option, just not proceeding at this time (The Globe and Mail).......The full Market Watch is available to ECNG Customers to contact one of our specialists, call 1-888-989-1501 or email info@ecng.com
