The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that US working gas in storage rose by 66 Bcf for the week ending July 17, 2009. The report fell slightly below expectations of 68 Bcf, and reduced the year/year surplus to 568 Bcf (24%) while the year-over-year average surplus rose slightly to 458 Bcf (18%). Bruce Power announced this past week that they will focus on the refurbishment of the reactors at Bruce A and B on the shores of Lake Huron, instead of pursuing new reactors at Nanticoke or in Bruce County.
