Natural Gas

  

 

  Natural gas continued its volatile run in the past 2 weeks, with the prompt month trading anywhere between $4.35 and $5.32 U.S. /mmbtu.  Generally, the market has been trending upwards, but the day-to-day price swings are substantial.

 The northeastern part of the continent, which is a key gas consuming region, is expected to have normal to above normal temperatures in the next week.  This will keep heating load down, but may be offset by the number of nuclear power plants in the U.S. which are offline for seasonal maintenance.  The shutdown of the nuclear generators causes an increase in natural gas generation, which is expected to cause an extra 1 Bcf/day of gas use.......The full Market Watch is available to ECNG Customers to contact one of our specialists, call 1-888-989-1501 or email info@ecng.com

Ontario Electricity

 
 

 

Average ON PEAK Price for Oct 3.2 cents / kWh
ON PEAK Hours over 7.0 cents: 1.0% in October
  4.5% year to date
Highest price in the past 2 weeks: 29.3 cents / kWh on Oct 6th

Conventional Meters

 

First Tier 5.8 cents per kWh (was 5.7)

 

Second Tier 6.7 cents per kWh (was 6.6)

 

Smart Meters (where the utility invoices using Time of Use Rates)

 

Off Peak 4.4 cents per kWh (was 4.2)


Mid Peak 8.0 cents per kWh (was 7.6)


On Peak 9.3 cents per kWh (was 9.1)
